There are several upgrades that you can make to your home that will improve the home’s appeal without breaking the bank. In fact, there are many things you can do that will get prospective buyers more interested in your home for under $1,000. Here are some simple upgrades that will make your home sell.
Clean or fix kitchen cabinets- Since kitchen cabinets get touched every day, the constant use can cause a great deal of wear and tear. That’s why it is important to clean or fix your kitchen cabinets before listing your home. If they are wood, try wiping them down with lemon oil to restore the shine or if they are really bad you can sand then down and re-paint them.
Re-paint walls and trim- Kitchen cabinets aren’t the only part of the house that could use a fresh coat of paint. It is also a good idea before listing your home to re-paint the walls and trim inside the house. The most important thing to remember when re-painting is to select a color that helps your home sell.
Clean and unclutter- The point of a walk through is to have the potential buyer envision themselves living there. Having all your personal items laying around will make it more difficult for the prospective buyer to do so. In addition to removing all the clutter, it is also important to give the home a deep cleaning.
