Small Ways To Make A Room Look Bigger

Small square footage doesn’t have to be a deterrent when it comes to decorating. Just because a room is small doesn’t mean that it has to have a small feel to it. Here are some ways to make a small room look and feel bigger.

Large rug- A large area rug creates an illusion that the room is bigger than it really is. You can even make your own over-sized rug by combining several smaller ones to save some money.

Mirrors- Strategically placed mirrors can double dimensions of the room to the naked eye, thus giving the perception that the room is larger than it really is. Placing mirrors on both sides of a piece of furniture or displaying a long, wide mirror across a counter top should do the trick.

Throw pillows- Don’t go overboard with the throw pillows. Too many throw pillows will more than likely pile up and make the room feel overcrowded and cluttered. If your throw pillows are getting in the way of seating for you or your guests then it may be time to get rid of some of them.
